Composer for film, television, game and multimedia
Monique Shang is a film composer who was born and raised in China and now based in Los Angeles. She started playing piano at the early age of six. Encouraged by her parents, she used DAWs and Sibelius to write some music and songs during her Middle School and High School years. She spent her undergraduate days in Communication University of China in Beijing, majoring in Music Composition. That university specifically focus on New Media area, so she had opportunities to cooperate with students who majored in Animation and Filmmaking. She received Master of Fine Arts in Music Composition for the Screen at Columbia College Chicago. Upon her move to LA, she interned with Christophe Beck at JCB Music. Her current projects consists of writing music for TV series, films and video games of US as well as China.
She writes in a wide variety of styles and genres, with a particular love for animation，romantic movies and psychological movies.
